Barbara Steen

Mosaic Artist

Creating art with glass is my passion. Like a bold stroke of paint, each piece of glass expresses texture and form. Working toward a unified whole, I select, cut and set each shape. The combination of brilliant colors and the sparkle of reflected light create stunning results.

Inspiration comes from my belief that beauty is ever present and needs to be uncovered. Mosaics are pieced together as life is for me, harmonious, beautiful and colorful. I strive for moments of magic.

Currently I am working on wall hangings of flowers with bright colors for spring and summer. Also, I enjoy the diversity of commission projects.

You can see examples of my work at the Kären Gallery on the Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis and the Gallery Navarre, middle of Lake Minnetonka, northwest corner of 15 and 19 in Minnesota.
